Wow, this really puts thing in perspective for me. I never really thought about how people you the word "retarded" as an insult. So when I think about it there are so many people out there who use it as an insult to others. I will now be really aware of what myself and others say for now on. Thank you for sharing this!

I have a brother who has a learning disability and I have seen first hand the effects of the R-word. People must be cautious of everything that they are saying because it can not only effect that person but there loved ones. Thanks for posting.
