Hello. My name is Dave Wickstrom and I am from Lexington, KY. As you know, I am the long male in this class so please be nice to me. :)

I have attended Union College and BCTC prior to starting at EKU. I am a Special Education major and plan on getting my Master in FMD Special Education. I have been in the MR/DD field since I graduated Dunbar High School in 2004. I have ran 17 camps in 6 states through Power Ministries for people with special needs and was also Director of Day Services for ResCare. I also am very involved in the "access ministry" at Southland Christian Church in Lexington which puts on the Jesus Prom every fall for people with special needs. If you want to have fun while blessings others and are interested in getting involved, let me know and I will get you signed up.

Before starting at EKU this semester, I worked at UK Hospital in the OR as a Surgical Tech. Life was always interesting in the OR. I have a TON of pictures and stories if you are interested.  I decided to step out of the medical field because my true calling that I was trying to ignore is working with people that have special needs. I also travel to Haiti twice a year to do surgical mission and work in a special needs orphanage. These trips are always the highlight of my year.

Look forward to seeing everyone every Monday night.

You're definitely more experienced than I am but I just wanted to say that I plan on getting my masters in FMD as well! I love working with those children more than anything. I wish EKU offered an undergrad program in it.
