3-year-old Deaf boy told to change the way he signs his name

 I ran across this news report and once I read it, I was furious. The little boy is 3! Just because the way he signs his name may or may not look like a gun, it is his name. I can't believe a school system would say something to this boy and his family.

Wow. I don't think anyone has the right to tell a 3 year old not sign. He is 3 he doesn't mean any harm!

I too was upset about this. He shouldn't have to change the way he signs his name. Absolutely absurd! I hope the school system will gain some respect for him and allow him to have the same right to his name as every other child in the school!

I saw this on the news. It is absolutely ridiculous. The fact that his name goes against school policy is absurd. I'm very happy however that this wasn't taken lightly. The school and the administrators should know what they did was wrong and it won't go unrecogognized. I hope they think twice next time before they say the way someone communicates goes against school policy.
