Class Debate!!!
Ok. So I've been watching the debate this evening as I've completed the test. As a part of class this coming Monday we will be having a DEBATE! I will organize it a bit differently than the Presidential Debate. Nonetheless, you will have an opportunity to ask questions, respond to questions and to MODERATE!
Content of the Debate: Chapter 8, Language and Students with Intellectual Disabilities.
Team A will debate Team B.
Team C will ask questions.
Team D will listen as the judges and score the answers each team gives and responds to the other team.
Before the Debate begins each team will be given an opportunity to review a few "sample questions" and to develop a set of questions to be put into the Question Pool and made available to the Moderator to be asked.
Each team will have an opportunity to play the role of Debate, Questioner & Judge. The team who has the most points will get to add these to ANY assignment they choose.
My recommendation is that you prepare by reading chapter 8 and review any resources on Blackboard in the Weekly Resources area.

Im a little nervous about this debate for i dont feel comfortable being in confrontations with others. Hopefully it wont become to heated :)
You'll be on a team :-). We WILL be nice and civil UNLIKE some of the debates we've recently seen on TV.
I'll ask a question of Team A. They will discuss as a team and have one person on the team answer. Team B will give a rebuttal. Team A gets to respond to what was said.
The next question Team B will go first and we repeat the process. There will be a total of 6 questions asked with each team getting to go first three times.
I know I will be on a team I just will be have some shyness that will come out during this debate! :) I will try my hardest to get over this hurdle by tomorrow!
