My name is Priscilla Baxter. I am majoring in LBD Special Education and Elementary Education. I am 26, have been married to my husband for 7 years, and have a sweet, fun-loving little 2-year old boy who keeps me on my toes ALL the time!
I enjoy spending time with my family, dancing in the kitchen with my husband and son, designing jewelry, embroidery, and teaching Zumba Gold classes! There's something fun and exciting about seeing people in their 60's and 70's coming out of their shell and dancing, having the time of their lives!
Although I wish I would have finished school long before having a child, I am really enjoying my classes and try not to take this opportunity for granted. I'm excited about learning how to teach kids from all walks of life!

It's great to have a MOM in the class of a child who is in the DEVELOPMENTAL STAGES OF LANGUAGE! I hope you will share fun things he is saying and doing as we go through class. I once went to a Zumba class. I couldn't keep up! I so wish I could do that though. It looks like such great exercise and I REALLY need it.
Glad to have you in this class!
It's so neat to see my son's language development! A typical conversation between him & I:
Me: "What's your name?"
Logan: "I two!"
Me: "Yes, you are two years old. But what is your name?"
Logan: "Owen!"
Me: "Say Lo Lo Lo Lo!"
Logan: "Lo Lo Lo"
Me: "Good job! Now say Guh Guh"
Logan: "Guh Guh!"
Me: "Great! How about Lo Lo Lo, Gan Gan Gan"
Logan: "Lo Lo Gan Gan"
Me: "Awesome job baby! Say LOGAN!"
Logan: "OWEN!"
haha. He's a trip! :0)
Anyhow, my mom and I team-teach our Zumba class. We have heard so many people say that they struggled to keep up in a regular Zumba class, so we decided to offer a beginners class that EVERYONE can do. While one of us is up there teaching the class, the other is offering modifications for those who might have an injury of some sort or desire lower intensity levels. She also has a small group she teaches on Tuesday nights that is a much lower intensity. She has two women in that group who are 70 years old, one of which has had heart surgery. So it's great! Most of the women in our classes have been between the ages of 30-70. We have a blast and everyone leaves their feeling successful, which is our main goal. You're more than welcome to try it sometime!
